A Whirlwind of Growth

So here we are again, Blog Number 2 – and what a whirlwind it’s been since the last one!

Goodness,  it feels like I’ve barely sat still.  I’ve been a proper busy bee over at Sarah Miller Training HQ – creating, designing, delivering, and most importantly, meeting some absolutely wonderful people along the road. Honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

One of the biggest highlights has been developing and delivering my new course, ‘Safeguarding the Hidden’.  This one is really close to my heart. It’s all about how to identify those hidden risks that aren’t always obvious, recognising signs of exploitation, and – crucially – knowing what to do to safeguard vulnerable people. Because let’s face it, spotting something is one thing, but feeling confident enough to act? That’s where the magic happens.

It went down an absolute storm. Truly. The conversations in the room, the engagement, the willingness to share experiences… just brilliant. I met some lovely folks, the kind who remind you exactly why you do this work in the first place. You know when a room just clicks? It was one of those.

Hot on the heels of that, I also created and delivered a new course – ‘Introduction to Empathy Fatigue’.  This one is for all those incredible people working in demanding roles, giving and giving (and giving some more), often without realising the toll it takes. It’s a very practical and engaging session, full of simple, realistic strategies for staying resilient when the work gets heavy.

I have to say – it was a total hit with delegates. There’s something really powerful about seeing people go, “Ah… that’s me,” and then leaving with tools they can actually use.  Not fluffy theory – real, doable stuff.  That’s always the aim.

Alongside all of this, I’m absolutely delighted (and a little bit proud!) to share that I’ve won a new contract with Stoke-on-Trent City Council.  Even better, I’ll be delivering it alongside my fabulous mentor and dear friend, Steven Talbot.  We’ll be working together to deliver training in Relational Therapy, and I cannot wait.  Working with Steven is always a joy; he’s been such a huge part of my journey, and getting to collaborate like this feels really special.

So yes – lots of new courses, lots of new faces, and plenty of learning (for me as well as everyone else!). It’s busy, it’s exciting, and it’s exactly where I want to be.

Here’s to the next chapter… and maybe, just maybe, a slightly quieter week at some point? (Though I won’t hold my breath!)
